Vacant position with The Geological Survey of Norway (NGU), based in Trondheim, is the central national institute for knowledge of bedrock, mineral resources, surface deposits and groundwater of mainland Norway and of the near-surface geology of the Norwegian continental shelf. The survey's tasks include geological, geophysical and geochemical mapping, development and maintenance of databases, research, information activities and advice to governmental bodies and industry. The NGU staff of 225 includes representatives of 22 nationalities and 65 % of the staff are scientists.

Senior Engineer Electronics


A permanent position as senior electronic engineer is vacant with the Geoscience Division. The work for this position will be within instrument maintenance, data acquisition and processing of geophysical data.

NGU is looking for a candidate with higher education within electronics, preferably with a master grade. The working tasks will be maintenance of scientific equipment before fields work, data acquisition in the field and quality control of data. Processing of the data will be a natural part of the work, preferably in cooperation with the scientific staff at NGU. Field work both in Norway and abroad is a part of the work, both from fixed wing aircrafts, helicopters, ships and on ground. NGU has a modern park of equipment, both for field measurements and for laboratory analysis. The position is well suited for a person who likes flying and outdoor life.
