Senior Geotechnical Engineer

Duties:

This is leadership role ensuring compliance with relevant HSE policies, procedures, objectives and regulations and the commitment to achieving Zero Harm through safe behaviours.

Main responsibilities:

  • Development and execution of a geotechnical management plan, including monitoring programmes for mining operations and access roads.
  • Providing hands on operational support for geotechnical data collection, analysis and integration into mine plans
  • Performing geotechnical data interpretation, assessment and modelling work to support mine design recommendations
  • Develop or acquire a geotechnical database for the mining operation and maintain and validate data within the database
  • Assisting with development and implementation of the slope and dump management plans in line with geotechnical safety standards
  • Take part in Succession Planning within the MRM Team by training and mentoring of Geotechnical geologist and Technicians

Requirements:

  • Degree in engineering geology, geotechnical engineering
  • More than 5 years of experience in large scale mining operations
  • Ability to run industry standard geotechnical software (ie Dips, Slide)
  • Solid understanding of Mine design
  • Experience in Leapfrog and Surpac is preferable
  • Fluent verbal and written English, French is an advantage
