![]() Environmental Assessment and Management MScThe management of the environment is an increasingly important aspect of all areas of development. This masters has been designed to enable practitioners and graduates develop a detailed understanding of the principles and practices of Environmental Assessment and Management. The course was developed in 1988 in response to new directives from the European Union, which required Environmental Impact Assessments for new developments. Participants gain the skills and understanding of Environmental Assessment and Management using real-world and current case studies and scenarios. The course develops a range of technical, communication and team working skills that are highly valued by future employers. The course is integrated within a suite of masters offered which provides a range of optional modules such as GIS, Water Resources and Health, Environmental Auditing, Air Quality Management and Environmental sustainability of buildings. The course is structured to provide both the theoretical knowledge and practical skills needed by environmental managers in today's employment climate. The course covers environmental auditing, EMAS and ISO14000. Graduates from the course have gone on to work for environmental consultancies, regulatory bodies, government organisations and local councils in the UK and abroad.
