Senior Modeller



Location Negotiable
£30 - 35K

This major consultancy is seeking to recruit a Senior Coastal Modeller responsible for the delivery of hydrodynamic, wave modelling, sediment transport and water quality studies requiring varying levels of modelling. The role will include technical supervision and the development of a team of modellers. It may include some aspects of project management, including financial management, programming and client liaison.

They are looking for someone with a number of years relevant academic or consultancy experience of hydrodynamic and water quality modelling in 2-D/3-D, wave modelling, sediment transport modelling, ideally familiar with Mike 21 and/or Delft 3D. S/he will be required to work well within a team environment, to develop solutions to technically challenging problems and have an ability to motivate and teach.

Desirable Qualifications Post graduate qualification (PhD or MSc)

Professional Membership (e.g. MICE or MCIWEM)

Essential Qualifications First degree in appropriate subject (eg Civil Engineering, Mathematics, Oceanography)

Essential Experience Minimum 6 years relevant sewerage experience. Hands on experience of coastal computer modelling in connection with hydrodynamics, waves, sediment transport and water quality. Must have hands on experience of Mike21/Mike3, Delft3D and/or Telemac. Reporting results is an essential part of this work and a good level of competence in written English is required.

Personal Characteristics Proactive and self motivated with good oral and written communication skills. Good team player.
