Senior Health & Safety Consultant



Location Negotiable
£40K

  • Analysis of client regulatory and best practice compliance.
  • Provision of evidence supporting observations of non compliance.
  • Recommendations for corrective action to remedy non–compliances.
  • Producing bespoke general and regulation specific risk assessments.
  • Writing client specific policies, work instructions and method statements for a wide range of hazards.
  • Development of proactive risk management strategies for clients to minimise their health and safety risk exposure.
  • Delivering and developing health and safety management systems.
  • Report preparation using approved style and content templates in approved timescales.
  • Use of Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel and PowerPoint, as required.
  • Compliance with internal business systems.
  • Make recommendations for improvements in client service and delivery.
  • Provide an enthusiastic consultancy role.

EDUCATION & QUALIFICATIONS:

  • NEBOSH diploma or equivalent (desirable) or as a minimum working towards diploma or higher level health and safety qualification
  • Membership of IOSH (essential).
  • An understanding of UK Health & Safety Legislation

EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:

  • Experience developing and delivering OHSAS 18001 or other health and safety management systems would be preferable.
  • Proven experience in a health and safety consultancy environment desirable or alternatively applicants will be required to demonstrate commercial understanding of consultancy.
  • Commercial awareness of pricing and profitability.
  • Client focussed.
  • Must be well organised, with good time management.
  • Self motivated and driven.
  • A high energy professional capable of influencing clients at all levels.
  • Analytical Mind who can bring clarity to difficult situations
  • Ability to work well and continue to deliver results under pressure.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, gravitas and an ability to establish credibility quickly.
  • Ability to work under own initiative without the need for direct day to day management.
  • A strong team player.
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
