Technical Director

Due to planned growth within the Company they are looking to recruit a Technical Director who has the capability to grow a team in their Glasgow office and provide mentorship to the established offices in Edinburgh, Belfast and Dublin. Based in Tannochside, near Glasgow the ideal candidate will be specialized in environmental management and compliance and will work closely alongside the Commercial Director also based in Tannochside, complementing new areas of work being won in this area.

KEY PROJECTS / CLIENTS INCLUDE

Environmental compliance and specialist work in hydrology, planning support and environmental monitoring for clients such as Scottish Energy, MoD, Ardeer Peninsular Development. Projects are also being carried out with various local authorities

EDUCATION & QUALIFICATIONS

Candidates will possess an Environmental Science or Engineering degree (or equivalent), preferably with an MSc or PhD.

Chartered and business / commercial qualifications are desirable.

Membership of a professional body would be preferable.

EXPERIENCE & SKILLS

Considerable experience with commercial aspects of environmental (or similar) consultancy.

Technical expertise in environmental management is essential.

Past experience should be in environmental consultancy or possibly in an appropriate environmental role for industry.

Experience of team leadership is preferred.

Driving licence is essential.

PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT

They promote integrated working across the business so considerable opprtunity for variety exists.

More specifically however there are excellent opportunities available for this role, including development into a senior line management role if desired. More immediate personal development is centred on the opportunity to grow and establish a new team in Glasgow. There will be much scope here for developing and shaping the future team.
