The Helmholtz Centre Potsdam – GFZ German Research Centre for Geosciences is the national research centre for Earth sciences in Germany. Current research of the Lithosphere Dynamics group focuses on interdisciplinary system analysis of plate boundary zones with a particular focus on the interaction of tectonic mass flux, earthquake deformation processes, and seismotectonics at GFZ's Plate Boundary Observatories and in our state-of-the-art tectonic analogue laboratory.
The successful candidate is expected to participate in an integrated field and laboratory-based research program (https://www.gfz-potsdam.de/en/section/lithosphere-dynamics/overview/) and to collaborate in our plate boundary observatories (www.gfz-potsdam.de/en/scientific-infrastructure/research-infrastructure/regional-observatories/). The successful candidate is encouraged to contribute to existing projects and initiate own projects within our program.
