The Helmholtz Centre Potsdam - GFZ German Research Centre for Geosciences is the national research centre for Earth sciences in Germany. Section 1.3 "Earth System-Modelling" at GFZ searches for a Ph.D. candidate (m/f/x) to work in the project "Ocean signals in Earth's magnetic field (OceanMag-II). The project is part of the DFG priority programme "Study of Earth system dynamics with a constellation of potential field missions" (SPP 1788), which is designed around ESA's multi-satellite magnetometer mission SWARM. The focus of OceanMag-II is the combination and comparison of simulated and observed ocean generated magnetic signals.
