Development worker to advise the project supporting farmers organisations and processors of agricultural products

JOB-ID: 30474

Field of activity

The project aims to provide training for groups of producers and processors of agricultural products so that they can offer appropriate services at target-group level and improve market access (e. g. training in business services; quality management, certification). Through training and advisory services, the project helps to professionalise the degree of organisation, especially in cooperatives, so that they can better represent their members interests, offer services of their own, and develop appropriate administrative structures and as much financial independence as possible. Relations with customers and processors will become more professional, for instance as a result of contract farming. Your work will therefore focus on organisational consulting, training management and networking. The project's objective is to enhance the performance of the players in selected agricultural value chains. Activities are geared to pro-poor, sustainable agricultural growth, the creation of economic structures (producers' groups, sales agreements, services) and a greater market focus in production and processing.
