Research Lecturer in Scleroclimatology / Marine Climate Science

Starting Salary: £29,972 (on Grade 7) p.a.

We seek a Research Lecturer in Scleroclimatology/Marine Climate Science for a fixed term period of 3 years to form part of the Climate Change Consortium for Wales (C3W), a 5 year, £4.1 million programme funded by HEFCW. Successful candidates will develop their own research programmes and contribute to collaborative research programmes with partners at the Universities of Aberystwyth, Cardiff and Swansea.

We are keen to recruit a candidate with a strong background in scleroclimatology and marine climate science who will be able to assume a central role within the Sclerochronology and Scleroclimatology Research Group within the School of Ocean Sciences. The post is tenable for 3 years in the first instance but the successful candidate will be expected to generate new funding to extend employment and programmes in C3W. This is primarily a research post but the candidate will be expected to contribute some teaching on our marine science degree programmes.

The successful candidate will be expected to commence 1st March 2012, or as soon as possible thereafter, and the post is available for a period of 3 years.
