Marine Instrumentation and Survey Engineer

Cefas require a dynamic and motivated individual who will be responsible for providing expertise and leadership in relation to the identification and supply of engineering/technical services and equipment requirements necessary for the operational delivery of our current and future portfolio of surveys and fieldwork activities (both in the UK and overseas)in support of the high quality science which underpins our current and future business portfolio.
You will be responsible for providing solutions to research vessel development requirements and technical problem solving (including the specification and sourcing of services and equipment).
There will be opportunities for the successful applicant to contribute to surveys and fieldwork activities both in the UK and overseas.
You will possess significant operational experience in marine electronic systems and survey/fieldwork instrumentation with a good working knowledge of geodetic, hydrographic and marine data acquisition and recording systems also being desirable.
Essential professional qualifications required are a degree or equivalent in a relevant engineering subject as well as operational experience of technical problem solving (preferably in relation to marine survey and fieldwork activities).
