The Lyell Centre for Earth and Marine Science and Technology is a multi-disciplinary strategic collaboration between Heriot-Watt University and the British Geological Survey (BGS). The overarching strategic objective of this partnership is to find pragmatic, evidence-based solutions to critical global challenges associated with the Earth's surface, sub-surface, oceans and atmosphere.
We wish to make three professorial appointments to our Lyell Centre for Earth and Marine Science. The successful candidates, will join our dynamic Lyell Centre Team and assist it to achieve its vision as a recognised world leading research centre.
- Professor of Physical and Biological Oceanography
- Professor of Environmental Microbiology and Virology
- Professor of Risks, Hazards and Uncertainty
With a minimum Doctorate qualification, as our successful candidates, you will be world leading researchers in these fields of science as evidenced by an excellent track record in publication rate, PhD student supervision and track record of securing external research funding.
