Research Fellow in Oceanography


Young and research-intensive, Nanyang Technological University (NTU Singapore) is ranked 13th globally. It is also placed 1st amongst the world's best young universities. The Asian School of the Environment (ASE) at NTU Singapore is currently looking for a candidate to join them as Research Fellow (post-doctoral) in Oceanography.

Applicants should have a Ph.D. degree or equivalent in Atmospheric Sciences, Climate Dynamics or Physical Oceanography before assumption of duty, and expertise in one or more of the following: running general circulation models (GCMs) and analysing large volumes of output from multi-model GCM ensembles, numerical ocean modelling (e.g., ROMS), and, interpretation of oceanic and atmospheric reanalyses and data assimilation products. The appointee will collaborate with Dr. Nathalie Goodkin from the ASE and Dr. Kristopher Karnauskas from the University of Colorado, Boulder on research related to the physical climate systems of the western Pacific and the South China Sea including the relevant monsoon systems and climate oscillations of the region.

The position is based in Singapore with ample opportunity for extended exchanges between the two institutions. The initial term is twelve (12) months, renewable for a second year pending satisfactory performance.
