Marine Environmental Consultant

Salary range 26,537 - 29,847 per annum

SAMS Group, based in Oban, is seeking to appoint a Marine Environmental Consultant to join our expanding Delivery Team. As a unit, we provide independent, environmental consultancy providing survey and impact assessment services to public and private sector clients. We operate in the field of marine environmental sciences, with a focus on mining, marine renewables, aquaculture and remote sensing technology development.

Educated to at least graduate level in marine/environmental sciences with knowledge of the marine environment, you will have industrial experience and expertise in translating client requirements.

The successful candidate will carry out environmental consultancy duties including project management and deliver of enterprise contracts, customer account management, opportunity generation and tender preparation. You will also be responsible for the management of scientific equipment.

The successful candidate will work alongside the Proposals Manager and report to the Senior Environmental Consultant.

As a highly motivated self-starter with excellent communication and organisational skills, you will enjoy the challenge of working at the interface of scientific knowledge, changing industrial need and evidence-based policymaking.
