Polar oceanography includes those physical and biogeochemical processes which take place in the polar seas, such as circulation, mixing processes, exchange between ice, ocean, land and atmosphere as well as transformation and transport processes of hydrographic and biogeochemical character.

The Swedish Research Council announces a Senior Research Position within natural and engineering sciences. The position is intended for a scientist who has obtained a Ph.D., where the date of exam, with a few exceptions, is not older than ten years prior to the end of the application period. The primary obligation of Senior Research Position appointees is to conduct research. The position is financed for a maximum of six years.

The proposal must be approved by a Swedish host university or other Swedish host higher education institution.
