Assistant Project Scientist, Climate and Marine Ecosystems at the Bren School of Environmental Science & Management

The Bren School of Environmental Science & Management at the University of California, Santa Barbara is seeking an Assistant Project Scientist to study the effects of climate on marine ecosystems. The successful candidate will access marine ecosystem productivity using output from general circulation models in collaboration with climate and fisheries experts. The Bren School will be the home department for the position but work may also be conducted in a suitable location. The position is a part-time (50%) appointment for one year with an expected start date of approximately March 2018.

A PhD in Earth Science or a relevant discipline is required prior to start date.

The candidate must possess extensive experience in model analysis dealing with climate and biogeochemical field as well as experience in presenting work to groups of people.

Skilled in programming and data analysis are necessary; and a background in interdisciplinary collaboration is desired.

Previous postdoctoral experience (6 months or more) is strongly preferred.
