We are seeking an experienced Programme Officer to provide scientific and technical assistance
in the production of UNEP-WCMC’s growing work in the marine assessment, data provision and
decision support, to support better policy and decision making processes.
The successful candidate will provide scientific and technical assistance in the production of
UNEP-WCMC’s growing work in marine assessment, data provision and decision support, to
support better policy and decision making processes. They will take responsibility for delivering
selected and broad ranging projects related to the marine and coastal environment, in particular,
in support of international processes and Conventions. They will cultivate and maintain good
working relationships with partners and agencies within the UN, governmental, nongovernmental,
scientific and private sectors. S/he will hold a Degree in marine science or a
related field and have demonstrated applied knowledge of the marine and coastal environment.
S/he will be a highly motivated self starter, with a good balance of enthusiasm and realism for
finding solutions to global biodiversity challenges.
