2-Year Postdoctoral Scholarship funded by the Carl Tryggers Foundation
Mechanistic understanding of the accumulation and storage of dissolved organic matter in aquatic systems
Join Jeffrey Hawkes’ research group in Uppsala, Sweden
Uppsala University is a comprehensive research-intensive university with a strong international standing. Our ultimate goal is to conduct education and research of the highest quality and relevance to make a long-term difference in society. Our most important assets are all the individuals whose curiosity and dedication make Uppsala University one of Swedenˇ¦s most exciting workplaces. Uppsala University has 45,000 students, 7,000 employees and a turnover of SEK 7 billion.
A scholarship is available in the program for Analytical chemistry, Department of Chemistry - BMC. The department of Chemistry ˇV BMC is located within Uppsala University Biomedical Center. Along with outstanding research, we conduct teaching and research education in areas of Analytical Chemistry, Biochemistry, and Organic Chemistry.
Join a recently funded project at the intersection of field work, experimental innovation and cutting-edge analytical techniques. The project aims to establish the source and fate of stabilised forms of organic matter in aquatic systems using novel experimental and analytical techniques. Samples will be characterised by analytical methods that push the limits of established techniques, and the postdoctoral scholar will collaborate with a strong local network of research groups.
Previous experience in at least one of the following is required:
The scholarship will be granted for a 2-year research stay, to begin at a date as early in 2021 as is feasible for the successful candidate. The successful candidate must have a Ph.D. (defence approved) before taking up the scholarship. Recruitment will begin at the start of 2021, but candidates will be considered who have a thesis defence planned before September 2021. Candidates from all backgrounds will be considered and are encouraged to contact Dr. Jeffrey Hawkes directly (firstname.lastname@example.org) for further information.
