Head of Business Development and Brand



To £75,000 p.a.
Based in Mansfield, Nottinghamshire

We are a non-departmental public body sponsored by the Department for Energy and Climate Change. The organisation manages the effects of past coal mining, promotes public safety and protects the environmental landscape in the mining areas of Britain.

Predominantly funded by Government there is scope in the current economic climate for greater self sufficiency. We manage large amounts of information about the mining sector which holds significant potential value for developers, builders and planning professionals.

Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer we are seeking a high calibre candidate to join the Executive Leadership Team and lead our strategy to release economic value from our business. This will involve the development of new products and services in collaboration with key strategic partners and unlocking internal resource to generate commercial propositions.

The role:

  • To maximise the value derived from our information and resources through commercial product development and collaboration agreements
  • To lead the development of our brand in line with our five year business plan and business development plan through innovative partnerships
  • To lead as part of the Executive Leadership Team on the transformation of the business towards a skills based organisation with the capability to provide services into commercial markets

The candidate:

  • Experience of generating profitable income through the development of information products and services supplied by Government
  • A track record of developing innovative strategic partnerships to maximise the value of new information products and services
  • Knowledge of the regulations and policies that influence the public sector information market
