We're based in Nottinghamshire, England. We provide expert advice and creative solutions to manage public safety and environmental issues from coal and metal mining. We have an ambitious 5 year plan to expand our services, providing advice and services to governments and public bodies in the UK and overseas. The Environment team as a whole is responsible for addressing issues of water pollution from abandoned coal and metal mines across the United Kingdom through the development and operation of over 70 existing mine water treatment schemes. Treatment schemes range from passive schemes with pumps, settlement lagoons and reedbeds through to large scale process engineering plants.
It is a vibrant and fast moving team with people from a wide range of backgrounds including: operational and civil engineering, Geo and Earth sciences, contaminated land, mining, surveying and the armed forces. The team can be working on over 40 projects at any one time.
We are looking a highly motivated and skilled Process Engineer with a background in the management and operation of treatment systems removing metal contaminants from mine water or liquid wastes. We are looking for an experienced manager to take ownership and deliver the effective management of our metal minewater treatment schemes and associated monitoring programme. You will also have the opportunity to input best practice and lesson learnt into the design and operation of new and existing systems. Many of these schemes are in challenging environments with multiple stakeholders and constraints, requiring proactive and decisive management. You will be part of a motivated and fast moving team delivering the design, construction, management and operation of a diverse range of innovative mine water treatments schemes. You will be responsible for ensuring environmental and health & safety compliance as well as identifying, developing and implementing projects that improve operational efficiency and environmental sustainability. You will also be responsible for overseeing both operational and financial performance of contracted service providers and specialist consultants.
You will be required to work with a wider range of in house and external experts as well as dealing with regulators and wider stakeholders.
