Our client requires a Senior Rock Mechanics Engineer with a BSc in Geology/Mining/Civil Engineering and MSc or PhD in a Geotechnical related subject, ideally Rock Mechanics. Chartered Engineer status is also desirable. The successful candidate will be working predominantly in mines and tunnels on projects concerned with rock mechanics, such as support and mine design. Extensive underground experience is essential. There will be extensive travel worldwide and projects tend to be 2 - 4 weeks duration. The ability to interpret and monitor results and use a variety of tools to design mining methods, layouts and support systems for coal and other mines worldwide is required. A proven track record of managing consultancy projects and excellent report writing skills are also required. Salary is negotiable depending upon experience and skills.
