An International Market Research Group requires a Senior Steel Market Analyst to join its professional team in the UK and/or Australia. The analyst will form part of a highly respected team responsible for researching the Carbon Steel Sector. The Senior Steel Market Analyst will interact with other analysts in the metals research and consulting teams and with his or her metallurgical coal counterparts on a regular basis in order to create a holistic view of steel market dynamics and to aggregate these market views to create a global carbon steel view. This role requires the ability to critically assess new sources of information within a complex analytical framework, in an appropriate timeframe. The analyst will be keen to draw together the many divergent threads of the supply side of the industry and to communicate his/her understanding to the client base. The successful candidate will have a desire and curiosity to complement their existing metals knowledge by analysing across the steel value chain, from supply to end user demand dynamics. Degree-qualified in a relevant discipline (e.g. Economics / Business or Mining / Geology / Metallurgical Engineering etc.), the role holder will have significant experience of the analysis of steel markets through employment at a research or resource company or in the financial sector.
