An International Market Research Group requires a Senior Copper Market Analyst to join its professional team in the UK and/or Australia. The analyst will form part of a highly respected team responsible for researching the base metals sector and specifically the copper industry. The team produces regular (monthly, quarterly and annual) multi-client research relating to the aluminium, copper, lead, gold, nickel and zinc industries covering markets, concentrates and cost analysis, and undertakes client-specific consulting assignments, utilising analysis and knowledge of the same. The analyst will be responsible for establishing and maintaining databases, producing analysis and providing timely insight to clients. The role will develop into a product leadership role encompassing product responsibility, contribution towards internal and external training, sales and marketing support, new business generation and line management supervisory responsibility for one or more research analysts. The ideal candidate will be Degree-qualified in a relevant discipline (e.g. Economics / Business or Mining / Geology / Metallurgical Engineering etc.); the role holder will have significant knowledge of the copper industry gained from at least 5 years experience in a market/business analysis environment, a resource company or the financial sector, as well as a good knowledge of mining practices. The successful candidate will ideally be widely known throughout the metals industry with a strong track record in analysing base metals markets and have sufficient standing to interact with industry participants at the highest level.
