An expanding Consultancy Group requires a Principal Geotechnical Engineer to head up a team of Geotechnical Engineers. The work will involve a variety of projects in Europe, Africa and the Middle East and will cover all aspects including desk based studies, ground investigation, interpretive reporting, plus the supervision of construction and QA/QC for the site phases of the projects. Technical and commercial management and involvement in the preparation of proposals and fee bids will be the responsibility of the Principal Geotechnical Engineer.

The successful candidate will have a B.Sc. and/or M.Eng. in Civil, Mining or Geotechnical Engineering and ideally will hold Chartered Engineer status. A Master's degree in Geotechnical Engineering or Engineering Geology would be advantageous. Candidates must have previous experience of working in the mining industry, either for a mining company or for a consultancy. Also required is experience of relevant technical software packages and previous working experience with CDM Regulations, Eurocodes, British Standards, specifications and contracts, in relation to mining/geotechnical works. This position is based in the UK, but candidates must be willing to travel overseas on assignments when required. Excellent English language skills are essential and an additional language, particularly French, would be an advantage. Very competitive salary and benefits on offer.
