Job Details:

Job Title: Principal Geologist required by a Consultancy Group, to provide competent consulting services to support projects and clients. This role will be based in Turkey and will include:

  • Working in multi-disciplinary teams on a wide range of global projects and commodities including feasibility studies and due diligence mandates
  • Managing projects including the creation of geological models
  • Auditing Turkish and International resource estimates
  • Preparing resource estimates for a range of different geological environments
  • Training and developing a team of geologists
  • Acting as Project Manager on studies, assisting with project management and logistical arrangements of often large projects involving a number of sub-consultants
  • Representing the Consultancy professionally, to their clients and interfacing at all levels with the client's management and operations (and those of their other consultants)
  • Business development, including the generation of business from new and existing clients
Requirements for the role include:

Knowledge of international Mineral Resource and Reserve Reporting Codes; Competence in one or more software packages; Experience of signing off on Mineral Resource Estimates as a Competent - Qualified Person; Previous consulting experience is crucial, combined with business development skills and the ability to actively locate new business opportunities plus possess a strong network of contacts; Excellent report and proposal writing skills requiring strong English language (verbal and written) skills; Fluency in Turkish is highly desirable for business development, marketing, and management; Proven track record of bringing projects in on time, within budget and to the clients satisfaction with confidence to manage complex projects; Proven leadership and team building skills, demonstrating sound decision skills; Chartered status of a recognised professional association would be an advantage.

The Principal Geologist will be required to be based in Turkey and travel overseas as and when required. A competitive salary package is offered, including performance based bonus and medical care. Assistance with relocation will be provided if required.
