The MICROMINE UK operation, located in Central London is responsible for the management of the European, Middle East and Africa regions, providing software sales and support,geological and mining consulting services.

MCS (Micromine Consulting Services) a division of MICROMINE is an international geological, exploration and mining consulting service that specialises in completion of resource and reserve estimation of mineral projects, feasibility studies, mine design, optimisation and scheduling, GIS and exploration planning and management services.

MCS UK requires a Senior Mining Engineer to assist with the management and development of the consulting business for the company, and to provide services internationally to clients that require assistance in mineral reserve development, mine design, scheduling and optimisation, independent technical report preparation for their projects to facilitate IPOs, valuations and investment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage optimisation and mine design for open pit and underground mines
  • Complete mine scheduling and costing studies
  • Manage reserve estimations, categorisation and reporting to international standards
  • Sign off on conversion of resources into reserves
  • Participation in scoping, prefeasibility and feasibility studies
  • Ensure best practice and relevant process are effective and adhered to
  • Mentoring and training of MCS mining consultants

Key Relevant Skills:

  • Mining Engineering degree or post graduate qualifications
  • 10 years industry experience with a strong mining engineering study track record
  • Experienced in the use of computerised optimisation and mine designpackages (knowledge of Micromine is anadvantage but not essential)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
