Mgr. of Process Control, Simulation, & AutomationLocation:Mississauga, Ontario, Canada Apply to: www.valeinco.appone.com Description: The plan to double nickel output within the next 5 years has resulted in a significant increase in the number of large projects underway. Added to this are major challenges to improve process outcomes across company operations. The greatest risks and most opportunities in industrial process are in the controls field. Risks to productivity exist because operators are not always aware of the control algorithms that drive production processes, and similarly, numerous opportunities exist to better leverage technology in optimizing productivity, product quality, financial results, etc. Vale Inco is creating a centre of excellence which will develop and disseminate the knowledge base required to improve operations across the company through standardized process control, simulation and automation tools and methodologies. Within this context, the incumbent is responsible for identifying opportunities throughout the company to improve operational performance by broadening the applications of a full range of process control, simulation and automation solutions, and for providing leadership in projects to develop and implement them. To this end the incumbent identifies, prioritizes schedules and assigns process control, simulation and automation resources to projects to design, build and commission production facilities globally, and is responsible for ensuring that assigned resources contribute to the attainment of project objectives. The incumbent is also responsible to communicate with executive and middle management within the operating divisions and major projects of Vale Inco worldwide. Position Requirements:
