Geologist (Explorationist)

Position Description:
To provide geological expertise to support exploration and new venture
activity, in particular assisting more junior staff in data integration,
prospect generation, volumetrics and risking.
Principal Duties include:
- Collation/Integration of data from multiple sources and map creation
- Preparation of basin and play fairway maps and sections
- Play, prospect and lead analysis, risk assessment and volumetrics,
stochastic and deterministic
- Interaction with 3rd party geological/geophysical studies and projects
- Written and verbal reporting and appropriate presentation
- Input to well proposals/post well evaluations as appropriate
- Interpretive evaluation and integration of well data: - petrophysics,
geochemistry, biostratigraphy, correlation etc.
- Mentoring and coaching of junior staff in all the above
Qualifications/Experience:
The following skills, qualifications and experience are
required:

Good Geological/Geophysical degree

Significant experience in an operating Exploration &
Production company as a Geologist.

Ideally broad and worldwide experience in geological &
geophysical evaluation across different phases of activity i.e. new
ventures, operations, P&L inventory/evaluation, wildcat exploration, brown
field exploration, appraisal and production, but particular emphasis on
experience at the frontier and new play generation phase and demonstrable
history of success in this area.

Experience in coaching and mentoring diverse technical
teams.

Whilst technically focussed, has demonstrable business
understanding and understands the entrepreneurial mind set
