This company is an international consultancy providing advice upon the development of natural resources, land and property, the management of the environment and the health and safety of people. They are significant participants in the international oil and gas, wind energy and UK nuclear power consultancy markets.

The Business Development Manager has executive level responsibility and wide discretionary authority to develop the company’s globally branded Seismic Operations services to the E&P industry in North America. Part of an executive management team in Houston, the Manager will lead the implementation and development of revenue generation strategies, manage growth through domestic and international business expansion, recruit and direct a team of best-in-class technical specialists and consultants, and bring to bear industry leading expertise in the execution of complex technical projects.

Ability to:

  • Recognize, pursue and secure business opportunities in a technical niche

  • Leverage expertise of staff and consultant teams from other offices to ensure that the overall corporate goals of best in class services to clients is achieved.

  • Design and manage of geophysical/geotechnical/geological survey projects.

  • Direct office based data analysis/interpretation/reporting projects including assessment of geohazards from exploration 3D data including workstation based interpretation and reporting.

  • Conduct and deliver integrated desk studies in support of offshore drilling, construction and engineering projects

  • Supervise the selection, purchase and set-up and upgrading of all Houston interpretation centre software/hardware including but not limited to geophysical interpretation and GIS tools.

Qualifications/ Experience: The following skills, qualifications and experience are required:
  • A geology, geophysics or engineering degree
  • 10+ years of industry experience is required
  • Excellent business acumen
  • Previous work in Seismic Operations
  • Experience in business management/development and the successful growth/positioning of specialist services/products to the E&P industry.
