Position Description:
Primary Purpose of the Job:

Ensures that the efforts of the highly skilled staff
under the incumbent’s direction are concentrated on activities with the
highest impact on decision making and resource value.

Ensures that all exploration and appraisal operations
meet its objective and are cost effective.

Monitors and guides the exploration/appraisal of all
International Oil Companies /Contractors operating in Qatar.

Works jointly with Exploration & Development companies in
optimizing exploration and appraisal plans.
Qualifications/Experience:
The following skills, qualifications and experience are
required:

The incumbent should hold at least B.Sc degree in
Geology/Geophysics or equivalent.

A comprehensive training in all relevant Petroleum
disciplines is essential.

Postgraduate qualification (M.Sc / Ph.D.) in a relevant
discipline.

At least 15 years experience in a broad range of
Exploration Operation and Petroleum Engineering functions with a proven
track record of leading a multi-disciplinary team is required, with a
minimum of 5 years experience in a lead or supervisory position.

Should have a high level of experience in exploration
with a broad spread of practical and theoretical experience.

This should include significant experience in the
application of fundamental petroleum engineering principles in exploration,
and operations.

High level of experience in all aspects of hydrocarbon
exploration / appraisal operations including drilling, cementing, reservoir

Qatar. Principal activities include exploration, drilling production, storage
and transport and sale of crude oil, natural gas liquids, liquefied natural
gas, gas-to-liquids, refined products and petrochemicals.
