As a Development Geologist, you’ll work on a multi-disciplinary asset team to delineate new discoveries and develop existing oil and gas fields in the offshore Gulf of Mexico. Members of this team have a unique opportunity to develop skills in business and commercial issues.

Qualifications/ Experience:
  • Integrating 3D seismic interpretation with extensive well information and production data to identify new drill and workover opportunities.

  • Decision modeling.

  • Project management.

  • Partner management.

  • Evaluation of outside opportunities and negotiations.

  • Prospect/opportunity identification and maturation.

  • Unix-base 3D interpretation.

  • Reservoir management – clastic reservoir mapping, modeling and characterization.

  • Volumetric, reserve and risk assessment.

  • Formation evaluation and planning for and managing reservoir surveillance programs.

  • New well, sidetrack and workover planning.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

In order to be considered for this job, applicants must have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Geology or directly related discipline with a minimum of 3 years of directly related experience.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

In addition to the required qualifications, the successful candidate is likely to be able to demonstrate:

  • Familiarity with exploration and development geology work processes.

  • Experience with Reservoir management – clastic reservoir mapping, modeling and characterization.

  • Understanding of the key processes comprising the upstream value chain including leasing, prospect generation and maturation, exploratory drilling, delineation, and production.

  • Knowledge of Unix-based workstation interpretation systems and applications, especially for 3D seismic interpretation and earth modeling.
