Conducting business in approximately 180 countries, the company is engaged in every aspect of the oil and natural gas industry, including exploration and production; refining, marketing and transportation; chemicals manufacturing and sales; and power generation.

  • Integrating 3D seismic interpretation with extensive well information and production data to identify new drill and workover opportunities.

  • Decision modeling.

  • Project management.

  • Partner management.

  • Evaluation of outside opportunities and negotiations.

  • Prospect/opportunity identification and maturation.

  • Unix-base 3D interpretation.

  • Reservoir management – clastic reservoir mapping, modeling and characterization.

  • Volumetric, reserve and risk assessment.

  • Formation evaluation and planning for and managing reservoir surveillance programs.

  • New well, sidetrack and workover planning.

Qualifications/ Experience:
  • Previous experience in reservoir and field development activities based on cross-functional team activities

  • Significant applied geological experience within or working with business unit cross-functional teams and technology groups

  • An understanding of sequence stratigraphy and depositional systems and the implication of these systems to reservoir distribution.

  • Business driven technical project management experience

  • Experience and strong skills in team leadership and as a team member

  • Prior deepwater experience desired but not required

  • Bachelors degree or higher in Geosciences with 8-10 years experience

  • Strong regional geologic insight.

  • Well-developed workstation skills including 3D seismic interpretation experience (SeisWorks), StratWorks, ZMap+, and familiarity with earth modeling software will be beneficial.

  • Understanding of Oil and Gas economics including reserves and cost forecasting.

  • Quick, accurate decision making skills and the ability to perform under pressure of tough deadlines with strong focus on results

  • Ability to work in a fast paced multi-disciplinary team environment involving partner as well as personnel.

  • Strong team and communication skills.
