An international oil and gas exploration company
quoted on the London Stock Exchange, with a portfolio of producing assets in the
UK, Indonesia, Pakistan and West Africa. An active exploration and appraisal
programme is ongoing in the UK, South and South East Asia (Indonesia,
Philippines, Vietnam, Pakistan and India) and Africa (Mauritania, Guinea Bissau,
Gabon and Egypt).
The Exploration Geophysicist is
responsible for performing geophysical evaluations and studies related to
Exploration and Exploitation activities on the Company’s Indonesian Assets. Key
responsibilities include:

Work within a
multi-disciplinary environment to provide geophysical input to the exploration
and exploitation assets within the Company’s operate and non-operated
licenses.

Undertake regional mapping and
identification and definition of prospects using all available geophysical,
well and analog data.

Employ quantitative
interpretational studies where appropriate to further the understanding to
prospects and discoveries and reduce risk.

Undertake and oversee with 3rd
party contractors in the processing of 2D and 3D datasets including the
optimization of processing parameters and sequence to deliver high quality
products

Provide geophysical support to
the drilling of exploration, appraisal and development wells and recommend
appropriate data acquisition programmes.

Prepares AFE requests, provides
input on preparation of technical specifications for contracts, carries out
the bidding process for contract award, monitors and controls expenditures and
assists in budget preparation.

Develop and maintain good
working relationships with external stakeholders including joint venture
partners and government representatives.

Supervises and assist Service
Companies on related G&G project / analyses.

Prepare comprehensive
documentation of all major work and studies undertaken.

| Qualifications/ Experience: |
The following skills,
qualifications and experience are required:

Bachelor of Science or
preferably Master of Science in Geophysics, Geology or Earth Science.

7-10 Years Experience, the
majority of which should be within an operating environment
-
Extensive workstation skills
and experience in 2D and 3D seismic interpretation
-
Experience in using petroleum
system analysis in both regional and detailed prospect assessment.

Good understanding of seismic
acquisition and processing methods
-
Analytical skills to integrate
and interpret a broad variety of data sets
-
Experience in Applied
Geophysics and Quantitative Interpretation is an advantage

Good interdisciplinary training
-
Strongly computer literate,
especially workstations.

Self motivated with a proven
record of achieving targets

Fluent in English both Written
and Spoken
