As the Application Geoscientist,
you report to Geolog Project Manager and will be responsible for:

Maintaining a Quality Control
System for software products
-
Release Testing,
-
Maintaining change request
database.

Tier 2 Support.
-
Maintaining Knowledge Base.
Main activities include:

Recreating and verifying
reported client problems, and suggesting possible solutions or work-arounds to
clients and support staff.

Detecting and reporting design
or usability defects encountered during component tests, module tests, system
tests and platform tests.
-
Testing changes to the
application software.
-
Platform-based release testing
and patch testing.
-
Keeping the change request
database up to date.
-
Keeping the Knowledge Base up
to date.
-
Creation and maintenance of
test designs and regression tests.
-
Preparation of testing plans.
-
Contribute to the ongoing
improvement of the quality assurance process, including tools, procedures and
documentation.

Implementation of programming
for product and quality control processes.

Creation and maintenance of a
test and demonstration data set.
-
Assisting with Online Help and
Tutorial documentation with technical knowledge and workflow examples.

Assisting developers with
technical knowledge.

| Qualifications/ Experience: |
The following skills, qualifications and
experience are required:
- Geoscience qualifications and/or a working
knowledge of the system being developed with 5+ years working experience.
- Sound verbal and written skills in order to
communicate effectively with both users and technically oriented staff.
- Ability to schedule own work, monitor and
report progress and achieve agreed goals.
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Knowledge of quality control, software testing
and scripting languages.
