Immediate
Worldwide oil and gas exploration and production
company with refining and marketing operations. The Company’s focus is finding
oil and natural gas, and that is primarily done through an exploration program
that is centred on deepwater Gulf of Mexico and its international prospects. In
addition to exploration opportunities in North America, there are significant
oil and gas exploration/production in other parts of the globe such as Malaysia
and the Congo.
Responsible for the development
of existing fields and near-field exploration including identifying potential
drilling locations using all available data (i.e. well bore, seismic,
simulation, etc.). Key responsibilities include:
-
Integration of all subsurface
data into field and regional mapping. Data includes formation tops, fault
cuts, sequence stratigraphic framework, reservoir architecture and reservoir
rock properties.
-
Generation of structure, fault,
isopach and net pay maps
-
Displays familiarity with
project management procedures.
-
Objectively assess risk and
reserve size distributions

University Degree in Geology or
equivalent.
-
Post graduate qualifications in
geology would be looked upon favourably.
-
Strong technical background
within an operator environment and experience in hands on development /
production geology of approximately 10 years.
-
A senior development
geoscientist is required. The individual should preferably have strong
development/production geology skills including static reservoir modelling and
well planning and execution skills (particularly horizontal drilling).
-
Extensive experience in
reservoir characterisation utilising sequence stratigraphy, structural
framework analysis and production data integration.
-
Familiarity with reservoir
parameter analysis (porosity, permeability etc) and the flow of heavy oils
within reservoirs.
-
Experienced hands on user of
Petrel based 3D Static reservoir modelling.
-
Experience at a senior level in
development well planning and execution (including high angle / horizontal
wells).

3D reservoir modelling and
reservoir simulation (using Petrel software).
-
Advanced theoretical
understanding of uncertainty and risk management.
-
Field development planning
-
Planning and evaluation of both
appraisal and development wells
-
Identification and utilisation
of new and emerging technologies
