Exploration Manager

Our Client

Growth orientated international operating company with interests in SE Asia. Led by a very experienced executive team, this company has significant upside including undeveloped oil and gas discoveries and ongoing exploration programs.

The Role

Reporting to the General Manager, our client is seeking an Exploration Manager to be responsible for effectively executing a significant exploration work programme and leading the technical play, prospect, commercial evaluation and maturation of new ventures.

Principle roles and responsibilities include:

• Effectively execute a significant exploration work programme that will build upon an extensive exploration drilling programme
• Provide technical review and assurance of technical work performed within the subsurface team
• Provide guidance and coordination during seismic and drilling operations
• Coordinate annual exploration budget construction for the Indonesian asset and liaison on annual work programme and budgets
• Extensive interaction and communication to ensure that all conditions and approvals are met during the course of the annual work programme
• Additional duties include commercial management in conjunction with General Manager, external engagement with other companies/government agencies as required, farmout evaluations and A&D work as required.

The Person

The following skills, experience and qualifications are required:

• 12-20 yrs experience in an exploration management or team leadership role
• A recognised degree. A higher degree will be well regarded.
• Advanced and current skills in 2D and 3D interpretation
• Excellent team leadership and project execution skills a requirement
• Demonstrated written and oral communication skills
• Experience in South East Asia would be a distinct advantage.
