The Role
Our client is seeking experienced Production Engineers who have expertise in production optimisation and specific experience in downhole assemblies, gas compression and recommendation of workovers.
The key focus of the role is to provide Production Engineering support for developing and assessing the production potential of the company's fields. Responsibilities and activities will include:
- Update and monitor well production trends and work with the relevant managers on remedial actions and well potentials
- Recommend designs and frequency of workovers to maximise well productivity
- Supervise field testing, workovers and completion programs
- Liaise with relevant teams to deliver the required volumes of gas to meet daily requirements and maximise the production potential for the field
- Accept and sign off for surface equipment and drilling and completions methods for wells
- Assist with the selection and procurement of production equipment and coordinate logistic support (transport, materials, water, etc) for well site production activities
- Organise operations and maintenance of field equipment, pipelines, meters etc
- Assist field staff with required training and troubleshooting
- Undertake risk assessments
- Ensure adherence to the company's HSE guidelines, policies and processes and provide input during reviews of emergency response plans and procedures.
The Person
The following skills, experience and qualifications are required:
- A degree or higher in Petroleum Engineering or other relevant discipline
- A minimum of 7 years working as an oil and gas Production Engineer which includes solid experience in production optimisation with specific experience in downhole assemblies, gas compression and recommendation of workovers
- Experience with onshore gas wells is important
- Experience with unconventional resources preferred
- High level of knowledge in operation field practices and procedures and sound knowledge of pipeline regulation
- High commitment to safety and environment, sound knowledge of environmental health and safety legislation and competent in risk assessment and evaluation with respect to safe work systems
- Awareness of and high commitment to cultural issues
- Commitment to systems, procedures and quality assurance
- Strong project management skills
- Proven ability to problem solve effectively and provide good attention to detail
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Effective leadership and team working skills
- Highly motivated and resourceful.
