Senior Exploration & NV Geoscientist

Our Client

Successful oil and gas exploration and production company experiencing significant growth in the SE Asia Region.

The Role

Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Geoscientist to join their multidisciplinary new ventures and exploration team to provide support, technical expertise and advice in play-based regional evaluations. Focus is on the SE Asia region so previous experience in the region is essential.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Seismic interpretation and mapping
• Geological interpretation and mapping
• Risk and rank acreage through the application of play-based interpretation techniques
• Identify prospective play types that may have been overlooked or untested
• Develop and apply play fairway analysis processes and procedures
• Mentor and support less experienced staff
• Liaise with senior management and new ventures and exploration groups.

The following skills, qualifications and experience are required:

• Degree or higher in a relevant Geoscience discipline
• A minimum of 15 years experience working in Geoscience with oil and gas E&P operator companies which includes experience in SE Asia geology, plays and petroleum systems
• Extensive seismic interpretation experience and broad based geological skills with an emphasis on regional geology, sedimentology and play fairway analysis
• Proven ability to integrate diverse seismic and geological datasets is essential
• Proven ability to work effectively in small multi-disciplinary teams
• Strong project and time management skills
• Effective team player
• Effective communication and leadership skills
• Highly motivated and resourceful.
