Exploration & NV Geoscientist

Our Client

Successful oil and gas exploration and production company experiencing significant growth in the SE Asia Region.

The Role

Our client is seeking an experienced Geoscientist to join their multidisciplinary new ventures and exploration team to provide support and technical expertise in play-based regional evaluations. Focus is on the SE Asia region so previous experience in the region is important. Key responsibilities will include:

• Seismic interpretation and mapping
• Geological interpretation and mapping
• Provide technical expertise to risk and rank acreage through the application of play-based interpretation techniques.
• Assist in the development and application of play fairway analysis processes and procedures
• Mentor and support less experienced staff.

The Person

The following skills, qualifications and experience are required:

• Degree or higher in a relevant Geoscience discipline
• A minimum of 8 years experience working in Geoscience with oil and gas E&P operator companies
• Proven ability to integrate diverse seismic and geological datasets essential
• Experience of SE Asia geology, plays and petroleum systems is important
• Extensive seismic interpretation experience and emphasis on regional geology, sedimentology and play fairway analysis
• Proven ability to work successfully in small multidisciplinary teams
• Strong project and time management skills
• Effective team player
• Sound communication skills
• Highly motivated and resourceful.
