The Role
Our client is seeking a technically strong Senior Production Technologist who has experience in steam flood to join their well and reservoir management team. The focus of the WRM team is to optimize production system performance, steam flood management, heat management and CSS optimization.
Within this team, the Senior Production Technologist will have responsibility for:
- Monitoring and optimizing steam flood pattern performance
- Collecting and evaluating thermal surveillance data
- Well intervention proposals
- Well testing proposals
- Perforating proposals
- Zonal isolation activities
- Cased hole logging/production logging in thermal environments
- Monitoring daily oil production and steam injection performance
- Planning well integrity repairs
- Setting short term production and injection forecasting
- Coaching and mentoring less experienced staff in line with the staff development plans
- Supporting deployment of technology to improve well deliverability.
The Person
The following skills experience and qualifications are required:
- Degree or higher in Petroleum Engineering or other relevant discipline
- Technically strong in Production Technology and Petroleum Engineering
- Sound knowledge and experience in steam flood/ injection and reservoir management
- Knowledge in thermal analytical models
- Software proficiency in OFM/DSS
- Confident and effective communication skills
- Proven ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team and be a key contributing member
- Proven problem solving capabilities and to think outside the box.
Specific technical skills required:
- Nodal system analysis, tubing sizing, inflow/outflow sensitivity analysis, perforation selection etc., using PROSPER and SPOT
- Prediction of steam quality, pressure and temperature profiles (WellCat Steam module)
- Artificial lift design (SRod, SubPump)
- Completion design (BP, ESP and PCP)
- Material selection for tubulars
- Well intervention planning.
