The Role
Our client is seeking an experienced Geologist or Geophysicist who has technical expertise and success in play-based regional evaluations to join their multi disciplinary team as the Senior Explorationist for the SE Asia region.
The Senior Explorationist will report to the team leader and have responsibility for:
- Seismic interpretation and mapping
- Geological interpretation and mapping
- Application of play-based interpretation techniques to risk and rank acreage
- Identification of prospective play types that may be overlooked or untested
- Develop, apply and document play fairway analysis processes and procedures
- Mentor less experienced staff
- Liaise with members in New Ventures, Exploration, Appraisal and Development groups and Senior Management.
The Person
The following skills, qualifications and experience are required:
- Degree or higher in a relevant Geoscience discipline
- A minimum of 10 years experience working in Geoscience with oil and gas E&P operator companies
- This role will suit Geologists with extensive seismic interpretation experience and Geophysicists with broad based geological skills with emphasis on regional geology, sedimentology and play fairway analysis
- Proven ability to integrate diverse seismic and geological datasets essential
- Recent experience of SE Asia geology, plays and petroleum systems is preferred
- Previous experience working successfully in small multi-disciplinary teams is essential
- Strong project and time management skills
- Effective team player
- Sound communication skills
- Highly motivated and resourceful.
