The Role
Our client is seeking Production Engineers who have strong technical and leadership skills to support and guide a team of highly motivated young engineers. The key requirements for these roles are expertise in workover design and production optimisation. The key challenge of these positions is to manage the optimisation of a large number of wells - 100plus.
Responsibilities for these positions will include:
- Work with relevant groups to ensure delivery of the required volumes of gas to meet daily requirements and maximise the production potential for the field
- Monitor well production and identify potential optimisation opportunities
- Recommend designs and frequency of workovers to maximise well productivity
- Assist with field engineering solutions to maximize base production and minimize operating costs
- Accept and sign off for surface equipment and drilling and completions methods for wells
- Ensure adherence to the company's HSE guidelines, policies and processes and provide input during reviews of emergency response plans and procedures.
The Person
The following skills experience and qualifications are required:
- A degree or higher in Petroleum Engineering or other relevant discipline
- A minimum of 8 years working as an oil and gas Production Engineer which includes solid experience in production optimisation with specific experience in downhole assemblies, gas compression and recommendation of workovers
- Experience with onshore gas wells is important
- Experience with unconventional resources (cbm, shale) is important
- High level of knowledge in operation field practices and procedures
- Strong project management skills
- Proven ability to problem solve effectively and provide good attention to detail
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Effective leadership and team working skills
- Highly motivated and resourceful
- A desire to live and work in Australia.
