A leading engineering company offering project management and engineering, procurement, construction, installation and commissioning services for offshore and subsea construction projects.
The Role
Our client is seeking an experienced Offshore Installation Manager to join the team for a major offshore well platform project in India. The OIM will be involved through all stages of the project lifecycle project life cycle from Design, Fabrication, Installation, Hook up and Commissioning.
Engineering responsibilities will include:
- Project management of designer on behalf of COMPANY under the direction of the Engineering Manager and Project Manager
- Assist the Engineering Manager/Project Manager with key liaison areas between Company, Designer, Fabricator and Certification Authority
- Review of design and installation with regard to offshore installation practices
- Review/Advise Engineering document and offshore installation procedure
- Verify Contractors design, engineering, procedure for Tie-in spool installation, Jacket / Deck / pipeline pre-commissioning
- Provide in-depth knowledge in reviewing related pipeline drawings such pipeline alignment sheets, approaches, riser details and related interface drawings
- Mentor junior engineers.
Offshore operation supervisory responsibilities will include:
- Monitor day to day Contractor's field activities for conformance to design documents, specifications, standards, and codes. Assist quantity surveyors in measurement of progress and installed quantities
- Assist Contractor's with the execution of their quality program - inspection, testing, and record retention
- Provide supervision and support on pipe laying barge during offshore installation. Review erection equipment and monitor lifting operations.
- Supervise offshore installation manual and check calculations, specify equipment, and solve problems of difficult engineering complexity
- Supervise personnel and subcontractors involved in the execution of projects; provide direction as needed
- Control scope changes or creep, ensuring that all scope changes are quickly and properly documented, and that change orders are approved prior to the performance of the work.
The Person
The following skills, experience and qualifications are required:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a related Engineering discipline such as Pipeline Engineering/ Subsea Engineering
- 10 to 15 years experiences in pipeline installation design and pipeline installation operation; pre-com/commissioning and subsea pipeline
- Knowledge of pipelines codes and several programs used for pipelines design such as AGA, Offpipe, Orcaflex, Abaqus, Microsoft, MathCad, CAESAR
- Sound project management skills
- Strong analytical knowledge and ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously with focus on individual projects support and integration of knowledge to continuously improve efficiency and competitive advantage to Company
- High degree of problem solving ability
- Well-balanced interpersonal skills
- Strong customer focus.
