The Role
Our client is seeking an experienced, technically strong Development Geologist to join their multidisciplinary team to provide:
- Input into the field development plans which includes new wells, developments and reservoir management with the objective to maximize oil production.
- Undertake integrated reservoir modelling studies which incorporate geoscience, petrophysics and reservoir data.
In this role you will work closely with the geophysicists, petrophysicists, operation geologists, reservoir
and production engineers and economists in the preparation and interpretation of data, well proposals and preparation and identification of business opportunities.
Responsibilities will include:
- Interpret and integrate all relevant data from across disciplines to build or revisit 3D static geological models.
- Perform comprehensive subsurface risk analysis (reservoir uncertainty analysis, geo-statistics and value of information assessments).
- Ensure integration with other disciplines is made as efficiently and smoothly as possible.
- Prepare comprehensive progress and final reports on all projects.
- Identify and mature drilling and business opportunities.
- Visit operation sites to support and witness most important operational activities (drilling, completion, production related interventions) as requested by the business
- Ensure industry best practice and code of ethic are respected at all time
- Mentor and supervise more junior staff.
- Ensure adherence to the company's HSE policies and guidelines.
The Person
The following skills, experience and qualifications are required:
- Degree or higher in a Geoscience discipline.
- A minimum of 6 years experience working as a Development Geologist for an operator company.
- Experience in building 3D static geomodels.
- Experience in support of field development planning and uncertainty analysis.
- Experience in development well planning and execution (including high angle /
- horizontal wells).
- Experience in reserves calculation and general geoscience reporting.
- Experience in RMS & Petrel
- Some previous operations geology experience would be an advantage.
- Effective team player and mentor with previous experience working in a multi cultural environment.
- Good communication skills, fluent in both written and spoken English.
- Highly motivated, resourceful and keen to achieve.
