Production Specialist - Flow Assurance & Asset Integrity

A successful oil and gas exploration and production company.

The Role

Our client is seeking a production specialist who has expertise in physical and chemical processes for the production of oil and gas to join their surface production chemistry group. Responsibilities will include:
  • Providing chemical performance management for all chemical applications in the assigned asset including both selection and application of required treatments.
  • Investigating and implementing improved treatments and process efficiencies for continuous value improvement in Process Chemistry.
  • Troubleshooting and resolution of all chemically related flow assurance and asset integrity issues associated with the assigned asset.
  • Provision of expert advice on key flow assurance and asset integrity issues, primarily focusing on inorganic scale prevention, separation, water management including EOR, H2S management, hydrate prevention and corrosion inhibitor testing and selection.
  • Supporting chemical technology development and implementation.
  • Overseeing and or acting as company representative for third-party chemical supply and service contracts.
  • Management of HSSE aspects of activities carried out.
  • Participation in chemicals related audits, reviews, health checks, technical reviews, investigations and peer assists.
  • Contributing towards the competency development of junior staff to raise the profile of Production Chemistry within the company

The Person

The following skills, experience and qualifications are required:

  • Degree in Chemical Engineering or other relevant discipline.
  • Oil Production experience with field exposure and a minimum of 8 years experience in Petroleum Engineering and Production Engineering preferably within Production Chemistry.
  • Expertise in flow assurance and asset integrity and related chemical issues.
  • Skills in the following technical areas: Solids deposition, oil/ gas/ condensate/ glycol treatment, Chemical Application Performance Management, Water Treatment, Well/ inflow performance.
  • Knowledge of Chemical Corrosion Control and Chemicals and Waste Management.
  • Should be familiar in managing Third-party service contracts and HSE issues impacting the business.
  • Experience working in multi-discipline and multi-cultural teams.
  • Effective communication skills
  • Highly motivated
  • Strong mentoring and support skills.
