The Role
Our client is seeking a technical Geologist who's broad and deep experience includes all aspects of Development Geology.
The Senior Development Geologist will provide technical expertise for the development of one of the company's key fields. It will require technical input and support into field development planning, well planning and execution, and reservoir modelling.
This is an expat role so a key responsibility will be to guide and support less experienced geologists.
The Person
The following skills, qualifications and experience are required:
- A degree or higher in a Geoscience discipline.
- 20+ years experience working in an operator role as a 'hands on' Development Geologist.
- Extensive field development experience in a variety of international offshore locations.
- Knowledge of clastics and offshore development essential.
- Familiarity with reservoir parameter analysis (porosity, permeability etc).
- Proven experience building fault and 3D geo-cellular models including geological correlations, facies analysis and well planning is essential.
- Previous exposure to a broad range of geoscience skills essential. (e.g. reservoir geological modelling (2D & 3D), reservoir property mapping, net pay calculations, well planning and Sedimentology.
- Knowledge of a related discipline (such as sedimentology or petrophysics) would be beneficial.
- The ability to present conclusions and recommendations clearly and succinctly and, when necessary, in non-technical language.
- The proven ability to effectively mentor and transfer knowledge is essential.
- Proven ability to effectively lead and work within multi-disciplinary team.
- Self starter and ability to think outside the square.
- Highly motivated with a proven record of achieving targets
- Proven communication and presentation skills
