The Role
Our client is seeking an experienced Development Geoscientist to provide quality Development Geoscience evaluation and advice in support of appraisal and development activities in existing Assets and New Ventures opportunities. Responsibilities will include:
- Ensure all the company's producing and undeveloped fields have up to date and fit-for-purpose geoscience evaluation and understanding.
- Assist with preparation of exploration and development work programs and budgets and monitor and report on progress of key appraisal and development projects.
- Assist with building and quantifying an inventory of appraisal and development opportunities including specific work proposals.
- Work closely with other function departments to achieve fully integrated technical and economic evaluations.
- Ensure data and interpretations are of sufficient quality to support company investment and divestment decisions.
- Pro-actively participate in the identification and evaluation of new business opportunities with an appraisal or development focus.
- Maintain accurate data, interpretation and model records for all significant assets.
- Provide technical support and advice to the company's subsurface teams in regional offices and implement initiatives to improve technical capability and work efficiency in development geoscience.
- Provide hands-on project supervision and guidance.
- Develop positive working relationships with joint venture partners.
The Person
The follow skills experience and qualifications re required:
- Degree or higher in Geoscience
- At least 15 years of relevant technical experience
- Sound technical skills in Development Geoscience and related disciplines including sedimentology, structural geology, geochemistry, reservoir engineering, formation evaluation & geology operations.
- Sound experience in field evaluation including reserves estimation, production forecasting and field development planning.
- Experience in Static Reservoir Modelling software and familiarity with standard geological and geophysical interpretation packages.
- Ability to evaluate multiple reservoir and fluid systems - both conventional and unconventional.
- Proven ability to effectively manage development geoscience data, interpretations and models.
- Proven ability to effectively lead a small team of professionals.
- Effective communication and influencing skills.
- Strong project management skills.
- Highly motivated.
- SE Asia experience highly desirable.
