The Role

Our client is developing their existing yard into a world class in-house fabrication and load out facility. The Head Offshore Fabrication will:

  • Plan, coordinate and control the execution of the Offshore Fabrication facility;
  • Ensure completion in accordance with contractual Obligation, Client requirements and objectives, within time and cost constraints;
  • Achieve profit objectives ensuring the observance of HSE and Quality procedures and practices.

In this role you will be accountable for planning, yard development, leadership and marketing. Responsibilities within each of these areas will include:

Planning:

  • Plan, develop and implement pre-qualification strategy for the yard.
  • Develop a credible value proposition for the offshore fabrication community in the region.
  • Plan, recommend and coordinate facility and equipment.

Yard Development:

  • Organize, direct, and assist in setting up an offshore fabrication yard specializing in fixed platform structures.
  • Prepare the yard as per specific requirement and achieve pre-qualification.
  • Accountable for budget, schedule, safety, quality and overall yard development; ensuring quality work is completed on schedule in an economical manner.
  • Constructability Reviews - Interface with Project Engineer and Site Manager, as necessary, to review constructability of design with the goal of meeting or exceeding projected quality, cost and schedule commitments
  • Provide leadership and direction and promote positive relationships with all parties involved, including clients, engineers, suppliers and sub-contractors
  • Provide leadership and direction to the fabrication yard staff

Leadership and Marketing:

  • Develop a strong project team and structure by defining and implementing, the Project Organization Chart, Work Breakdown Structure and project Execution Plan.
  • Build the highest level of employee engagement amongst commercial staff which includes procurement, contracting and materials management.
  • Ensure the provision of training for lesser experienced staff and skilled labour.
  • Enhance the brand of the company in the Oil & Gas upstream community.
  • Undertake market research and analysis and produce business plans/recommendations (including all associated costs and forecasted revenue for the business), to ensure that all business development opportunities (new products, services and markets) are optimised.

The Person

This is a local staff role, Indian nationality is essential. The following skills experience and qualifications are required:

  • Degree or higher in Engineering
  • Min 15 years experience in construction and engineering for the oil and gas industry..
  • Extensive experience in the development and management of fabrication projects for offshore platforms.
  • Experience in managing and marketing a fabrication yard.
  • Strong and effective communication, negotiation and project management skills.
  • Financial acumen
  • Proven ability to forecast project results through trend analysis.
