The Role
Our client is seeking an experienced Structural Geologist with strong technical and leadership skills to work within a role that is both consultative and hands on technical. The key focus areas of the Structural Geologist Advisor role will be to:
- Provide support, technical expertise for the exploration and development project teams in all aspects of structural geology for both greenfields and mature fields.
- Step in and undertake hands on technical work when required to ensure that project and work schedules are met.
- Mentor less experienced staff and ensure training in the use of structural tools.
With the client's current high level of activity in exploration and development this role presents an opportunity to join the company at an interesting and challenging time.
The Person
The following skills, qualifications and experience are required:
- University Degree in Geoscience or equivalent, preferably a PhD in Structural geology.
- Strong technical background with min 15 years experience in hands on petroleum geoscience in exploration, development and production geology including reservoir modelling.
- A diverse structural geology background, spanning both exploration and development activities where a strong structural geology input is required.
- Experience in reservoir characterisation utilising sequence stratigraphy, structural framework analysis and data integration.
- Knowledge of other disciplines (Geophysics, Drilling, Reservoir Engineering, Petrophysics, Economics).
- Experience in managing all aspects of well planning and execution.
- Previous international experience in an operator envrionment working in multicultural and multidisciplinary teams is essential.
- Ability to work effectively as both a team player and leader.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
