Successful oil and gas exploration and production company well financed for expansion of their domestic assets and development of their international portfolio.
The Role
Our client is seeking an oil and gas professional who has both a wealth of experience in Enhanced Oil Recovery and effective management skills to undertake a General Management role.
This is a pivotal role within the company's business and is responsible for providing strong technical analysis and judgement to achieve maximum production through the implementation of well selected EOR methods and solutions.
Key accountabilities
- Fully understand optimisation and EOR technologies and related work for both producing and development assets
- Provide overall technical insight and judgement on various technical considerations.
- Critically assess existing versus new technology and methods, and evaluate scope for optimization within various projects and assets.
- Identify opportunities and provide solutions to enhance production for both existing and new assets.
- Support budgeting process.
- Provide support on JV technical matters.
- Manage interface with key technical members of other teams e.g. Subsurface, Exploration, Drilling etc.
- Mentor less experience staff and suggest training and development needs of staff members.
The Person
The following skills, experience and qualifications are required:
- Degree or higher in Petroleum Engineering or Geoscience.
- 15+ years working internationally in Petroleum Engineering/Geoscience and developing a strong technical foundation.
- Experienced leader in hydrocarbon resource development and production optimisation.
- At least 10 years recent experience working in an EOR environment and implementing EOR technologies.
- Proven success in achieving production optimisation through EOR technologies and methods.
- Must have some experience within an operator environment working within multicultural and multidisciplinary teams.
- Proven business acumen.
- Effective problem solving skills and the ability to think both conceptually and analytically
- Strong people skills.
- Sound and effective management skills.
- Highly motivated.
